Our charity, tantrum for kids, is an integral part of what we do here at tantrum. The co-founders of tantrum had previously taken part in a number of education based initiatives including 6th form mentoring and primary school reading partners. They were also heavily involved in fund raising for a UK charity, Friends of the Citizens Foundation, which provides purpose built schools to the most under privileged areas of Pakistan. Realising that all of these schemes were founded on the belief that education is the way forward for all children we decided to set up our own charity to provide books and educational material to schools and hospitals throughout the UK for children to use.

The tantrum salon was founded on the belief that the best way to create a sustainable charity is to link it to a sustainable fund raising venture. As such the Kings Road salon was born. The salon donates all of its profits to our charity with a minimum guarantee provided by the tantrum owners of at least £5,000 per annum. With your support we hope to exceed this small benchmark by a long, long way. Our aim is to make the experience at tantrum so incredible that you will tell all of your friends about us, and they tell of their friends, who tell all of their friends. Well, you get the picture. Who knows, one day we could even have tantrum salons all over the country, all generating income for our charity and help provide future generations with the education they deserve.

We would like to sincerely thank all of our clients for the support they have shown us since we opened in December 2007 and hope you will continue to support us for many years to come. We cannot make this work without you and owe you a huge amount of gratitude for the effort that you have all made on our behalf by spreading the word and often travelling great distances to come and see us. Our furthest regular client lives in Jersey!

Tantrum for Kids is a charity registered in England and Wales (No. 1129650).

The best way to get involved is to visit the salon with your children and tell everyone you know how amazing it is! The more the salon is used the better we will do. That is why we care so much about your experience – we want you to keep coming back!

We would also welcome any book donations at the salon which we can then pass on to our chosen schools and hospitals. Please only donate children’s books though (fun or educational). Unfortunately the latest Stephen King thriller isn’t in the top 10 must reads for 5 year olds!

If you would like to get more involved in the charity or would like to organise a fund raising event for us then please email neil@yourtantrum.com.

For those children for whom hospital has become a first, if not second, home we would like to invite you to tantrum as our guest – please email Lucy, the salon manager, to schedule a free appointment. It would be our pleasure to have you and we hope that we can put a smile on your face!
