My Amazing Apple Shampoo is created with children’s health in mind. Combining the delightful aroma of the English Apple with a gentle formulation that does not contain parabens, it is a mild cleanser that derives its scent from allergen-free fragrances.

Being mild, the shampoo does not irritate the eyes, making it perfect for daily use. In line with the manufacturer’s environmentally-friendly policy, this hypo-allergenic shampoo has never been tested on animals.

One reason shampoo for children is milder is that children’s skin is more sensitive to the chemicals grownups have long grown inured to. Add this to the fact that skin on the scalp tends to be more absorbent and you have a very good reason to formulate shampoos specifically for children.

Whether you buy it from the nearest pharmacy or an online kids shampoo store, children’s shampoo is usually less harmful than “grownup” shampoos are. As we all know, many toiletries contain large amounts of chemicals. Considering that skin absorbs up to 60% of what is applied, most people would choose something milder, i.e. one for children, if they knew how those chemicals can affect their health.

Children’s shampoos generally contain less fragrance. The fragrances normally used in everyday toiletries can contain up to 4000 individual ingredients, most of which are synthetic in nature. Hypersensitivity to these ingredients can manifest as headaches, dizziness, skin disorders, rashes, respiratory disorders, nausea and vomiting.

In some cases, they can also affect the central nervous system. If you wouldn’t use it on your child, why would you inflict it on yourself? In fact, there’s nothing to state that only children can use children’s shampoo.

Phthalates are another bogey when it comes to shampoo. Online kids shampoo vendors make it a point to mention that their shampoos contain lower or no phthalates; parents can then choose to avoid exposing their developing child to chemicals that have reportedly had negative effects on the endocrine and reproductive systems. As such, it would make sense to reduce your own exposure to this ingredient, which is also found in many household products.

One reason most people tend to eschew milder shampoos is the poor lather it produces. However, a shampoo’s foaminess doesn’t correlate with its cleansing ability. In fact, a foamier shampoo indicates the presence of yet more chemicals. If you want to stay healthy for a longer time, perhaps you should consider using shampoo for children.
